Wolverhampton

At our two centres in Warstones and Bilston, YWCA Wolverhampton helps young women take advantage of education and employment opportunities, develop new skills and learn what’s possible in their lives.

The young women who come to us may be unemployed or on low incomes, living in poor housing, may have left school early and have few or no qualifications. They may be lonely, depressed or lack confidence. Many are young mums and some are experiencing violent or abusive relationships.

All these women are offered them a safe, women-only space where they can learn new skills, make new friends and learn to feel good about themselves.

There's always something going on! Our youth group runs sessions on assertiveness, career choices, health, training and education. We do computer training, life skills, outdoor pursuits, art and crafts and dance and drama. And for those that can’t get to our centres our outreach services in the community takes YWCA to them. Our family learning sessions teach parenting skills and promote good relationships. This is especially important to teenage mothers to who we offer support, guidance and information.

We encourage young women to get actively involved with everything we do!
