What we do
what we do
Our face-to-face work with girls and women
YWCA offers activities and programmes directly to girls and women.
We offer support, choices and opportunities to young women. In groups and individually, we provide:
- the chance to learn new things and get qualifications
- information on all manner of things, including health and education
- residential experiences and outdoor education
- volunteering and campaigning
- help for women leaving the criminal justice system
- support for pregnant teenagers and young mums
- counselling
- creches so that women can join in our activities knowing their children are cared for.
All our programmes are created in conjunction with young women, so we know we're giving them what they want. We listen to what they have to say and we don’t judge them. For some girls this is a revelation!
