Do something chocolatey
YWCA asks supporters to do something chocolatey

This April, women and girls all over England and Wales will be making a real difference to thousands of lives in the sweetest possible way - with free-trade chocolate - and they are calling for others to get involved. They will be taking part in do something chocolatey, an original new fundraiser for YWCA.
YWCA supporters are also invited to do something chocolatey to collect donations for their local YWCA centre by making free-trade chocolate cakes, organising charity chocolate mornings and chocolate raffles. More than 75% of all sweets bought in the UK are chocolates and more than two thirds of these are purchased by women. Women and girls from all backgrounds and walks of life enjoy chocolate and this April the supporters of YWCA will be able to indulge themselves as well as their family, friends and colleagues in some guilt-free treats for a good cause.
The funds collected at this event will help YWCA to continue its work with disadvantaged girls and women, helping them develop their own skills, challenge any discrimination they face and make positive life-changing decisions.
Commenting, Sophie Grigson, celebrity chef, said: "Love chocolate, cook chocolate, eat chocolate and put it to work, too! By supporting YWCA's do something chocolatey campaign this year and using free trade chocolate, you can enjoy a gorgeous treat with your friends or family, knowing that you are raising vital funds for young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to overcome barriers and fulfil their potential! Just remember to do some exercise afterwards to keep yourself in balance."

Every girl has her own story. Young women tell us about the problems they face. Their stories and opinions are the foundations of our work.
